Howzit bud, first is what do you want out of your system? do you want travelling bass that you'll feel in your chest? do you want people to feel the pavement pound before you arrive? do you want to hear every instrument and its detail in each song? or do you want something clear that can play good music and loud?
If you want either of the last two like i do. See if you can get a hold of a good powerful 4 channel amp and use the front channels to run a pair of splits 6.5'' and bridge the back channels to use for the sub. just make sure you match the correct rms ratings and see if you can get a sub with a high efficiency ie 90db... When you installing the speakers, try to get some mdf baffles made as the stock speakers are mounted on plastic mounts and arent as great as mdf. Also since you have a 3-door, the door itself is a lot larger and will require some sound deadening as it tends to resonate alot. As for your deck, pioneer and kenwood are both good choices. The rear speakers can be run off the headunit(deck). If you're on a budget, just get a good headunit and a decent set of splits, then work your way towards the back of the car ie amp, cabling, sub. As for capacitors, they arent necessary and its just going to be another current soaker in the system, its only truly effective if you upgrade the entire electrical system. On that note, see if you can do the big3 and use ofc 4gauge it should be fine, dont replace the cables but just add on to them, it will make a tremendous difference. Since its black friday, keep a look out on sonic electronix they got some good specials. If i were you, using the amounts allocated i would get this setup: Splits:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-Dampener.html Amp:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-ONX4.125.html HU:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-KD-X50BT.html sub:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...o-REX10D4.html wiring: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...er-SK4641.html just get an extra set of RCA's and get a small box made up for the sub, note you can run two of them and they bang in a small enclosure too. Also i would leave the stock rear speakers for now and upgrade them at a later stage if you really want. Goodluck with the build bud! Last edited by SilverSquash!; 11-22-2012 at 02:01 PM. |

You could also go see Mike Maltais or Keith McCumber at Sounds Good. They're in Vancouver...
Then you'll have both factory and shop support of anything goes wrong with the equipment. You'll also have on site troubleshooting assistance as well.
