Trim Ring depth?

After looking at some members here with trim rings i want em. I measure my 15in stock wheels for a depth of 1.75in, i found a set of 4 on ebay: stainless steel ones for $55 as my local Kragen has only 2in depth and autozone no depth listed but its abs chrome.

Did i get the mounting depth correct? 1.75in.

I've had aftermarket trim rings on two vehicles. They both made odd squeaking sounds, J.C. Whitney is known to have them.

Hey I don't want to be the guy to revive a long dead thread, but I've found some useful information in relation to trim rings and depth, that maybe some new guys like myself could use. I borrowed this from autoamenity.com.

"The pictures below show how to measure the depth of the recess around the bead area of the steel wheel with a straight-edge and a ruler. Position a straight-edge so it touches the edge of the rim in two places and measure inward to the base of the valve stem. If the recess is 1-3/4 inch or deeper, standard hubcaps/wheel covers and trim rings will fit."

For my 2008 Liftback, My measured depth on the OEM wheels is 2", but thanks to posts by RedRide and Beef, its obvious that 1.5-1.75" depth works perfectly for their rides.

Personally, I like the look. I'll post picks when I'm done, it may take awhile though.

I went with 1.5" but more because that is what I found. I have been told that 1.75" is the deepest.

I have never actually measured it myself but in my mind, what difference does a quarter of an inch make as long as they actually fit.

you may want to look into center caps as well to complete the look. there are a few different options. I actually thought about colored lug nuts but really didn't know what direction to go other than silver for my car so they stayed stock (and I already had them)

Yeah, I measured 2" but am hesitant to even take the time to try two inch rings considering 1.5" and 1.75" are already tried and tested. Autozone has 15" ones with a weird depth of 1.88" that I will probably give a try, mainly because they're ABS, and I've heard the metal ones can develop an annoying rattle.

As for center caps, I haven't had much luck. I've looked up the Tercel one's on ebay, but a lot of them are being sold either individually or used for fairly high prices considering what they are. Most likely I'll get the trim rings and wait a little bit to see if I can snag some Christmas sales for lugs or caps.

Even without the caps, yours looked pretty darn slick with the paint job.

I ended up getting some center caps. if you look farther down on my thread about the trim rings, I ended up getting some from NAPA. they are not meant for the car but seem to worp pretty well and at around $3 each, not too expensive either.

The napa number is 730-2411 if you wanted to get some. they require double sided tape around the inside and a little "love" to get them on. they don't come off though.

I thought about getting black lug nuts to go with the car and make them disappear. there again, I'm a bit cheap.
