I finally found part of the service manual that describes the indicator lights for the European Yaris. The spanner (wrench) indicator is the "Oil change reminder light".

I am not sure if it is the same for the European one, but for the US on to reset it you:

1. With the ignition on switch the odometer to the Trip A display.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Hold the odometer switch in and turn the ignition on.
4. Continue holding the odometer switch until the odo display stops flashing dashes and starts flashing numbers.
