The car may have been in a crash, I recently bought it, the person doesn't know the details of the crash.
If all the equipment was replaced, what about it being in a crash would cause this error?

The reason I asked about the crash piece is that there is a crash data recorder, where data gets written to a EEPROM within the SRS ECU. Once crash data is logged the only way to get the SRS error light to turn off is to either replace the SRS ECU or to clear the crash data from the EEPROM.
The error 51 is not related, but once you get it resolved and get the DTC cleared, if the light stays on, that is why.
I actually have the equipment to do the crash data clearing and have figured out the portions of the EEPROM that need to be cleared to do so.
