If you want to use it go ahead! Probably half of all Yaris owners use synthetic oil.
Its like they dont "approve" of Pennzoil, Mobile, sear oils etc. You just use them! Now for my synthetic oil sermon! DONT use synthetic oil! It was designed for use in turbine (jet) engines. Operating temperature run at 500 degrees in those. Oil temps in piston engine around 125. A bunch of promotion types got together and said "I bet we could sell this stuff to consumers! We could hype it and MAKE A FORTUNE! We'll say it lasts longer, improves gas mileage, makes the engine last 250,000 miles and charge TWICE AS MUCH for it!" But the fact is its the additives that wear out in oil and they are the same, synthetic or regular. I drove my Yaris 5200 miles to Alaska using regular oil. Synthetic on the way back. Didnt improve mpg at all. Your engine will outlast the rest of the car with regular oil changes no matter what. So if you want to fund somebody elses (admittedly hipper) lifestyle, if you want to be a tool of others go ahead and use synthetic oil.
