No idea, I used it for an autocross one time a few years ago. I would imagine you might be able to find reviews from users online.

I found a suction cup mount and will include it with the camera at no extra charge.

Is that your mouse, or did a transformer take up residence on your desk? /ontopic I still don't feel the need to get a gopro (or the like) for my AutoX endeavors. Perhaps you could give a compelling case for someone buying this? |

Looks like a really good deal at $100. Retails for twice that.

It is a really cool mouse, completely customizable to fit any hand size, you can adjust its weight, speed, and set custom tasks for the extra buttons. If you use a mouse a lot it is a great option. Most people initially get a camera for entertainment. But it is an excellent tool, it fills in the holes data leaves behind... A data system can not tell you how close you were to the cones, how late or early you picked up the throttle, a data system is blind. Putting the two pieces, data and video, together is the best setup. But if I only had one piece of equipment for autox I would use video. A data system is really only useful if you have two drivers in the same car, so you have a point of comparison - and one of them needs to be fast and know what they are doing to have a good baseline. Video shows you instantly if you missed the mark. If you mount a camera up high in the center of the roof you can typically see the proximity of the cones to both sides of the car, you can see how smooth your maneuvers are and you can get a sense of speed. In-car is also great, if you see yourself getting all crossed up and freaking out behind the wheel you are clearly behind. It is also a great tuning tool. Data will show understeer as a decrease in grip, but may not tell you how you got there unless you have that other drivers runs to compare it to. Video can show if you went to fast, blew the braking point and overcooked the corner.

Video helps improve driving technique. The datalogging on my AEM is useful for tuning, but not so much for driving road course (it does help with drag racing). Point a cam at the road to study your lines, point it at your feet to study your shifting technique, point it at your hands to study hand position, and so on.

yea, alot of autocross guys will set it up to watch the lines they pick during events. Could have braked sooner their, should enter that turn a bit more wide. Always trying to find every 100th of a second. On a National event every fraction of a second counts.
Look at these results from a national event. In Super Street class the top 4 cars are all less than a second from each other on a 2 min long course. And only get 3 tries to do it. http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...%20Results.pdf One thing I learned from one of the national champs is that you should record every run you make and if you don't look at the footage after your run, go home and study what you did and look for ways to improve. study your bad habbits and work on better habbits.

I video as I walk the course too. That way I can view it more times before racing.
Walking the course once or twice doesn't get it into my old brain very well. /offtopic, mostly
