it is actually in the pocket. this is why its such a pain in the ass to have to adjust to get it to work. it is hard enough just to get it plugged in. ill get a picture of it when I go out to my car. the head unit is a little different, but the auxiliary port looks the same .

Ah, I just ran into a picture of where the OEM aux jack is located on the Sedan (I seldom get to poke at sedans, so I miss those differences).

If you existing one can be made to work by holding the cable in just the right position, then the inside contacts of the jack have gotten bent to the point where they no longer spring back into the proper position. In that case, you will be best of replacing the jack assembly, rather than trying to repair it.

by replacing the jack assembly do you mean just the little black box with the plug on it? honestly though is it worth spending the money on a new stereo to power my speakers ? if you think that is the better way to go then I will probably just go that route.

Yes - I mean just replacing that black box. It's totally your call on the new stereo. There are a lot of benefits to doing so, but you will also spend quite a bit more than for just replacing the bad aux jack.

Spending some extra cash on a single/double din is, IMO, worth the investment if you plan on upgrading your sound system. Also, most new dins come with a usb/aux port in the front. In general, a new stereo will be able to provide more power to your speakers and will be substantially better if you get amps/subs. As CTScott said, you will be spending more on the stereo.
