Replacing tire pressure sensor

Hi everyone! I have a 08 toyota yaris sedan. My tire pressure light has been on for about three months. It flashes for about a minute añd stays on. I took it to the dealer and I was told that number 3 sensor was malfunctioning. So I ordered one online to save some money. My question is, when I get my mechanic to install the sensor does it have to be reprogrammed? I don't want to have to go back to the dealer. If it has to be reprogrammed how can I do it on my own? Please help!! Thanks!
