. Do you know of any retail STORE (that has a location in TX, NM, AZ or CA...or even in Las Vegas) that sells them individually, not by the 8 pack ?

And, here's another advantage of using the Yaris in place of the Tacoma: FREE dump runs.
I pulled out a set of built-in bookshelves recently and needed to dispose of them. I decided to load them into the back of the Yaris, rather than using the carrier, as it was a lot of pieces of wood. We get charged by volume to dispose of items other than recyclables or household trash at our recycling center, and normally a run like this would run somewhere between $25 and $40 depending on which dump dude looked at the truck and estimated the volume. With my short bed Tacoma, this would have looked like a lot of material, so chances are that I would have gotten dinged the $40. With the Yaris, I tell the dump dude that I have a book shelf in the back to dispose of and he looks at the car and says "In the back of that little thing?". I say yes and he says "It can't be very big to fit in there. No charge". Little did he realize that this is what was back there: Yaris - Dump Run.jpg

I think you may be right. They even charge to dispose of brush (which they then run through a chipper and sell as mulch).

I once carried a futon in the back of my liftback. I taco'd the mattress and tied it that way. all seats folded down. Got the job done Thanks for sharing this. I've been trying to decide between the two style hitch receivers for some time. I'll likely get one early next month. |
