the Mythbusters show did a study on this exact topic, The results showed that (at least for their particular test car, not a Yaris) that it depends on the speed you are driving at, at highway speeds it is acturally better to turn on AC then opening the windows as the drag does affect gas milage, while in local traffic opening the windows gives better gas milage.
