Flashing TPMS

I have a 2010 Yaris sedan that has just developed this issue. Checked the tire pressure, thinking one of the tires was low. They were all fine, nothing, the TPMS light is still flashing. I know when a tire is low, the light will stay lit, but I've never seen it flash. Can anyone shed some light on this? The battery died a few days ago, would the battery dying have anything to do with this?

Damn nanny gadgets!

I'm guessing either a faulty TPMS sensor, or battery in one of the sensors is running low.

Dealership or Toyota certified shop will have to put their techstream laptop on it and find out which one isn't responding. Either replace it which is a couple hundred dollars including labor or, leave it broken and do the DIY TPMS Bypass which is found here:

If you have a Discount Tire near you try them.
They reflashed my wife's car at no charge.

So drove home yesterday and the light never flashed at all, it was solid the whole way home. Drive it this morning to work and it's flashing. Screw I'm just gonna bypass it, my 2007 LB never had it and I was fine. Thanks guys

agreed. I hate the TPMS so much. I tried to keep mine because I didn't want to have that damn light on, but eventually after swapping out 10 sets of tires, someone ended up cracking one and of course the person who found it claims it was already like that. I just threw those in the trash. I check my pressures once a month anyways.

There's a diy on bypassing the tpms light around here somewhere. Basic soldering skills is all you need.

Why not just have it scanned a new sensor is only like 40$ at Toyota and 10 min to install plus 5 min to program

You can read it yourself with just a paperclip or piece of wire.

Turn the ignition to ON and jump the TC and CG pins of the diagnostic connector and watch the flashing pattern of the warning light:

TPWS DTC Read.jpg

11-14: Transmitter 1-4 operation stop

21-24: No signal from transmitter 1-4

41-44: Transmitter 1-4 error

65-68: Abnormal temperature 1-4

71: Transmitter not registered

73: Vehicle speed sensor signal malfunction

76: Receiver error

81-84: Transmitter 1-4 ID not received

94: Engine speed signal error
