Took my 15 Yaris SE into Toyota today because the weather molding strip was loose, and came off in the car wash. They have to order a new one. He wasn't the least but surprised. He said ALL the new Toyota's are having that problem. They aren't tight. He said it happens to the Corolla, Camry, Rav4,Avalon....all of the new Toyota's. Keep an eye out for that. It's a quick fix. But Toyota needs to address the problem when it's their entire lineup. Pain in the ass more than anything.

When you first brought this issue up in the forums here, I went out and checked mine. They seemed very snug, and there was no give to them when I tugged and pushed on them.

So far the only flaw I have found with my car is the upper front door frame rattle (drivers side only) that manifests itself whenever I go over a jarring section of road, of extended choppy roads in general. I don't hear it much when my radio is on usually (volume lvl 25 is my standard setting), but I am still going to see about getting it addressed during my first service interval (5000 miles). Something must not be secured/attached properly in that area, since the other side doesn't make a peep under the same conditions.

Other than that, the car seems extremely well-built - though I noticed that the general design of the rear bumper could be better in terms of making it feel more solid and like it is firmly attached to the car (instead of just clipped on). A couple of the automatics around here that I checked out on the lots before I purchased my car, didn't even have the bumpers secured-on properly, and were hanging loose around the wheel well sections (clips not engaged). That's one of my minor nit-picky quibbles now - especially after reading about the Yaris owner with the 2012-2014 who indicated that his bumper just flew off his car one day at interstate highway speeds. When my car first arrived on the truck, that was the first thing I checked (make sure all clips secured properly on rear bumper, and fitment was correct).

Hi, does your rear (trunk) door close correctly? I noticed that I have to slam it quite hard to get it closed. Sometimes it won't close at the first try. I don't know if the door is lighter that the one of my ex-Fiesta, or something is wrong with the lock, but I've never had this problem before. Or maybe I am just lame

No, we are not lame. Mine is exactly the same and I have read about others. I thought it was only a matter of adjusting the lock but that doesn't seem to be possible. I suspect we have to accept it.
My previous Mk 2 Yaris was far better in this respect, the hatch closing easily and with a reassuring clunk.
I suspect yours is French built too?
