Hi Pesho,
My 2008 Yaris hatchback gets 46-48 mpg, a little less then when it was new.

According to my ECU, my 2015 Manual SE has been doing 40.1 MPG average since I stopped using my A/C this fall/winter. Before that, it was reading 38.2 MPG average weekly (with A/C always on). "Real-world" MPG is probably 2-3 less than what the ECU indicates. I'm happy with both the MPG and the daily driving experience of my Yaris. It's a fun, snazzy little car (at least in the SE incarnation), in my opinion, and the best overall car in its price-class.

I wish that I had the opportunity to experience the pre-2015 Yaris clutch, as mine shifts a well (or better) as any Honda/Acura manual that I have ever driven in the past (all my previous cars over the last 35 years). I guess it was a good thing that I waited for the 2015 refresh, and the newer Toyota clutch implementation in the Yaris. All the bad press about the Yaris manual shifting dynamics almost drove me to purchase an automatic, for the first time ever. This will be my last manual though, since I am not getting any younger.

Wow. I remember when this forum was full of hypermilers and the average I remember those guys getting was around 42 mpg, give or a take a mile or two. Your 46-48 is impressive. I remember the 50 mpg tank was like the holy grail for those guys.

I drive a 2007 hatch and my last fill-up was 10.4 gallons on 335 miles for 32.2 mpg. Considering I don't have lightweight wheels, cruise at 75-80 mph on the freeway and don't granny drive in the city, I'm okay with that.

It beats the 19 mpg my dad's Chrysler Town & Country gets.
