Yes, you likely snapped it off where it enters the head and the actual oil control solenoid part is still inside.

The easiest way to get it out it to remove the valve cover and then use either a pointed air hammer but or a screw driver with a hammer to tap it out from inside.

iirc you shouldn't need to remove the camshaft to get a thing piece of drift onto the end of the sensor to hit it out

If you ever need or want an extra oem vvt solenoid, I have one from my 1nz sitting on my workshop right now
