I see plenty of German cars to know what i prefer.
Toyota are ahead of VW in terms of electronics and build quality. I also don't think you can beat Toyota suspension components either. Until the most recent engine line up Toyota Engines were fairly basic and hard wearing compared to quite a few of the popular VW engines. German cars are very over engineered and their electronics are complicated and there are quite a few parts and systems on them that are lacking and unnecessary. I drive VW's at work. I'd say the Aygo and Yaris are definitely better than the UP! and the Polo. The Golf is a nicer interior and has more features and is faster than the Yaris and Auris/Corolla but both cars are more durable than the Golf. I['d much sooner have an Avensis or a RAV4 than a Passat or a Tiguan.
