Just add a few bags of sand in the spare wheel well. With an extra 80-100lbs or so on the rear axle you'll be just fine driving up to 80mph. With 150lbs on the hitch and 100lbs in the rear I got up to 100mph before the car felt a little float with a (driver) single occupancy.
