Tire pressures play a massive role in how a vehicle handles and drives. Tire pressures also affect gas mileage.

For all intensive purposes, 32psi (cold) is the average tire pressure used on all vehicles. What is (cold)? As you drive, the tires heat up, and tire pressure increases. 32psi (cold) is the tire pressure when the tires haven't heat up from driving.

There are limits to inflation of the tires, and it is always recommended to use the specifications of the vehicle manufacturer.

Very basics:

Lower tire pressures will hurt gas mileage. Higher tire pressures will improve gas mileage. Adjusting tire pressures can improve how the car handles.
