Just my two cents - I use exactly the same technique as tmontague, works pretty well on my 2SZFE, it is correct that only about half of the old fluid comes out but I am doing this every year (15 minutes maintenance) so the old fluid does not have a chance to get too old.
I am using normal pink fluid I can buy in the local store (made by Sheron) - original Toyota was pink as well and this Sheron stuff meets all the expected parameters described by the car manufacturer. No doubt that Toyota will have something extra in their fluid (at least the price tag indicates that) but there is no need to worry that all other fluids will eat your car or something. It will not as long as it complies with the car manufacturer requirements. |
