I have been on this site for years and the number one handling upgrade that everyone recommends is a rear sway bar. TRD being the easiest to install, and there were others that liked the Whiteline one.
As far as coil overs, they are not a great option anywhere in the snow belt if you want to drive your car in the winter, too many problems with the bits seizing. But, with you being in Florida, coilovers are a great option if you are willing to pay the price. Tein is a good name and they have been put on the Yaris a lot over the years.
