That was my fav motor, but there is very little clearance on the pistons for more cam duration so you may need to lock out VVTI. Also when you rev it to 7k you'll get ring flutter and burn some oil due to the ring tension being so light.

As in, a lot of the time the motor doesnt run at all, and then you get lots of low load running. I'm hoping this will be low enough km that putting lots of load on it and with good oil will keep the rings freed up. Eventually I'll put some beefier rods in it, so probably makes sense to put normal 1NZ oil control rings on the pistons. But hopefully it will be not to bad in the meantime. |
