ill step in and go for the less obvious...get a hitch and make/buy an arm mount for the kayak, could make a similar bar style mount up front too if your creative..or just add a single bar rack at the front doors, this gives you 2 very solid points

if you like the idea and have little to no skill you can modify flat tow bar setup as if the yaris was being hauled behind an rv with very little effort

I already have a trailer hitch for a bike rack, so that might be an option.
