I was thinking the same thing about the remaining unchanged point. It's very Toyota to leave something alone that's working fine. I wonder why Bilstein doesn't state that these are backward compatible with the 2nd Gen? I'll try asking their technical support.

I put Excel G's on my Echo many years ago but looking them up recently raises points about stiffness and lifespan. Are you rocking them? I think I'd do what I did before and use the Excel G strut with OE Toyota spring combo it I did it again.
