you just feel the rear being jerked back a bit as if the rear is doing the braking. I tried it on automatic car and this is the result. as for the manual i believe you're suppose to press on the clutch and pull the e-brake up at the same time.

yeah, the rear will pull, but if you start to turn, you will start lose control as your rear end will slide.

With a FWD, no need to press the clutch, as the driven wheels and the braking wheels are nto the same. With a rear wheel drive, though, if you lock the rear wheels with the handbrake, you will also lock the engine, since they are connected, hence the need for the clutch
