2 cans of flat black spray paint were all i needed to do the dash trim and all 4 door pockets. IMO it makes the sedan look how it should of from the factory. i still have to paint the dials though. i want paint them a different color but just haven't figued out what yet.

i like the pics i saw of the people that painted the dash kit, and the plastic around the guage cluster. *they did all parts gloss black* looked cool, and pics are somewhere on here but forget who did it

Every piece in my car that is grey is being painted the black with blue flames like the outside of it. Will post pics as soon as I get them :)

sorry for the noob question.

-Just curious, why do we need to sand the panel with sand paper?
wouldn't it scratch the panel??

- what do you mean by "did about 6 layers"?
Does that mean you spray the panel 6 times?

and last question:
- What's the best distance for spraying the panel so that the result is smooth like yours?

sanding gives the paint a slightly rough surface for the paint to grab on to. 300 grit sandpaper feels almost smooth.. it barely sands it .. but it gives it a rough surface for the paint to stick to. I would also recommend using an adhesion promoter as well .. which will help the paint stick

6 layers or 6 coats is nice.. that means you paint it (probably at a distance of 1 foot to 1.5 ft) you let it dry and do it again 5 more times..

I did two coats of adhesion promoter, and 4 coats of the paint. At some point i'll probably go ahead and do a coat of clear gloss to make it a little more shiny

just take your time doing it ..

doing 6 coats means that the first coat can be really light .. then the next coat can be light so the end result is prefect
