sorry for the confusion.
but the stock rear speakers are 6x9 the issue was that the hole for the speakers was to big to just attach the speaker to the car, so you either need to buy or create a speaker spacer for the new speaker.

Some companies like Alpine sell oversized speakers for holes that are too big
For instance the 6.5" oversize typr R in my laser Most standard Alpine 6.5" would not leave enough metal to screw the speaker to the base. the actual speaker hole was larger then the speaker mounting hole diameter. I ordered the set of oversized 6.5" and the cone itself was 6.5" the actual overall diamerter was over 7" and fit the hole perfectly.

The stock speakers in the Yaris are a joke. I think I blew mine out three months ago... straight up paper-coned shittyness.
I had Polks in my Eclipse. They were nice for the price. Simple two-way 6.5"s, I think they cost me 80 bucks a set. I'm gonna try really hard to keep it all Alpine in the Yaris, though... assuming my wallet can handle it. As far as Pioneer, they're cheap, and in this country you get what you pay for. |

I put in those exact same speakers about 2 months ago, pain in the ass to do, but definitely worth it, they pump, and with a subwoofer as well, my car has the perfect balance i wanted.

don't they have a metal frame? is that why the DIY on installing them, the easy way of removing them is just tearing them off??

The cones are made of paper, I know that. Of course they aren't TOTALLY made of paper, although props to anyone that can do that... damn.
The DIY is funny because the bracket you use to mount the speaker is built into the speaker and reusing the piece requires a Frankenstein-esque hacking of the stockies. The better alternative: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...eaker+mounting (for liftbacks, sedans the rear speakers are different and you can follow the original post in this thread) bigsky2 hooked it up. |

well the way i see it; the DIY requires that the modder/DIY'r should use a little brain power and create some stuff for their car by themselves, as to feel like they've done alittle more then just copied off instructions off the internet...
then again I'm about 1/2bottle of scotch less then I was an hr ago, and have had along day... so take the above statment as you will.

Thanks guys. Just upgraded to some Alpine 6x9
My factory speakers were just trashed after 10 years. About 5 years ago they started to rattle and distort on voices. I finally took care of that today. |
