I had my clutch replaced at 28,000 miles. Luckily it was under warranty. I had the TRD unit put in for $40. I have not futzed with the clutch myself, though.

Thanks you
![]() Wow. Did you have to buy the clutch at the full price or did you get it for $40? That would be some deal! |

I dont think it would be easier to drop the engine and trans but who knows. What is an ncp61 anyways? wow an extra 40 bucks for a trd clutch that dealer cut you a good deal. |

They paid for the replacement of the OEM clutch; I paid an upcharge of $40 to add the TRD unit.

finally got the correct input seal in and I removed the trans to find the input shaft seal is INSIDE the transmission. I had to completely disassemble the entire transmission to replace the seal the job took me 7 hours I'm just glad we had the 4 different pullers needed to remove fifth gear and pull the input shaft bearing out to replace the seal. everyone needs to take a peak under their car to make sure your not leaking gear lube as well.
on a side note the trans is very easy to pull and you do not need to remove the subframe. |

the new clutch (sachs) also feels way better than the stock clutch it doesn't feel like an on off switch anymore I can now take off nice and smoothly.

Is that warranty hours or labor hours? Makes a difference.
BTW, You got a digital copy of Toyo's flat-rate book? :P Might come in handy! |

![]() I wonder if Toyota would tend to replace the whole tranny vs. keeping a tech down for 7 hours changing a seal. Kinda glad I got the auto though I originally really wanted the stick.....

just got my 2007 yaris sedan about a week now, and i noticed the same thing.. i thought that there might be something wrong with the clutch/tranny.. hmm but it seems like almost everyone's experiencing it.

Yes i did adjust the pedal a little,i have very little play in the pedal now i did it because i wanted the clutch to engage sooner, it helps.I also relocated the switch behind the clutch. Now i can press it with my finger instead of having to slam the clutch to the floor on startup.
