I think the whole issue is moot. The traction control isn't on 99% of time. When it does kick in, one of the drive tires are spinning and the computer stops the spin.

I depends om the TC sys and it can involve much more than that. TC can basically take over control of the entire car including the throttle.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traction_control_system

It can turn a car into a totally drive by wire vehicle is any situation that invokes the TC.
Fly by wire is fine for fighter jets and airlines but, complete drive by wire take over via TC in a car?

Have we all been dumbed down to the lowest common denomiator and we now all have to suffer for the incompetent drivers?

I every state in the US, driving is considerd a privilege that must be earned, not a right. However, we now give a driver's license to anyone who can drive around the block. We even have cars that can now parallel park by itself. IMO, anyone can not do something so basic to driving a car as parallel parking have absolutly no right to be behind the wheel of one!

It took me about a week to get used to the ABS kicking in, coming from a car without it.

Yes...yes...YES!

And the really hillarious thing is expensive cars like Mercedes Benz tout their "our car is so advanced it lets you know when you wander out of your lane" features. The car protects them from the most dangerous things out there. THEMSELVES!

Theres a commercial were an owner says "I wandered out of my lane and MY CAR WARNED ME!"

You stupid dumb baastard!

And the consumers love it! Makes for great sales! Its like "Im rich enough to own a MB and I dont even know how to drive it!"
