likin it so far, base model has speedo and fuel gauge and abunch of dummy lights. so it's nice to know what a few other systems are actually doing. it would say it's a little cheapy feeling as far as scrolling through screens and what not but functionally it works great, display is clear and easy to see/read.

Which bluetooth OBDII module works with a cheap iPhone app?

I find the cheap bluetooth OBDII transmitters on Amazon for $13-20... but no mention of compatible iphone application.

None. The iPhone ones are $100+ because apple uses something different when it comes to bluetooth.

It's because Apple doesn't expose the Bluetooth stack to apps. Otherwise we'd undoubtedly have a Torque-like app for iPod/iPhone.

There is DashCommand and Rev, which I believe are $40 and $50 and require a Wi-fi OBDII adapter. The adapter is probably close to $100.

I'm also interested in knowing anyone else has bought it from Canada. Definitely strongly considering it right now. The SGII is just too much.

I knew it was something like that.

I tried the go pro OBD2 to iPod adaptor. It was decent, but didn't do any logging as the provider that had the web based data logging service went under :thumb down:

Thankfully I returned the adaptor to walmart ASAP and wasn't out anything.

I just ordered one (UltraGauge EM) two days ago. They were out of the windshield mounts so I got the one without.

Sub-Total: $69.95
FedEx (1 x 0.60lbs) (International Priority): $21.19
Total: $91.14

Which worked out to $93.03 CAD via paypal on my credit card.

I just checked the tracking number and it looks like it got picked up yesterday evening, and the expected delivery date is Monday.

I can't wait :)

Does the Fedex International Priority service include brokerage or will you have a hefty brokerage fee on top of that?

Hadn't thought of that. Shipping to my postal code came up just over $25, I'd hope there are no additional fees. If it keeps getting much more I'd be getting close to just buying a SGII locally.

Picked it up from fedex today. $7 in taxes and $10 brokerage fee :(

All said and done it came out to $110.91 total cost.

It's a bit smaller than I thought but works great. I haven't mounted it yet, I just had it sitting in my above steering wheel glovebox on the ride home, and according to the uncalibrated readings I did 6.9 L/100km (34 MPG) average over 11km (6.8 miles) of city driving. My drive to work is partially city, but mostly highway so I'm very interested to see what average trip fuel consumption I'll get. I'm also going to take note of the instantaneous consumption at different cruising speeds. I can't wait :D

I'll take some pics once I mount it (going to use the velcro stickies that came with it) and stuff.

thats not too bad at all. I once had a $45 brokerage fee on something. The worst part was it was a warranty return and the company didn't mark the shipment properly and refused to answer any of my emails.

I might have to pick up one of these next time I go to the US.
