I'm really curious about the VIS bumpers also. Can't bring myself to pay the freight for a real RS bumper from overseas, so please let us know how much trouble it is to make fit.

Pics also please!

You just have to replace the two bumper bracket arms, you can keep the stock USDM crash bar beam.

Kinda expensive because of shipping, but I think you can source them thru japanparts.com. Just have to figure out the part #s. I'm sure someone who has done the conversion on here will chime in with part #s.

Got the bumper garnish. Came pre painted. Didnt say what the color code is though. Was thinking it would come primed and would have to paint it. I want to use the color it came as for my cowl section but rdhjapan.com hasnt responed to my inquiry.

How well does the garnish fit on the replica bumper?

Edit your spelling again. It is rhdjapan.com not rdhjapan.com. I can't even find the garnish on that site.

Forgive me if this question has been answered before. I've seen lots of bumper replacement threads where the crash bar needs to be replaced. I've often considered replacing my front bumper, but as the car get pulled behind a motor home, I need every bit of clearance between the lower grill and the bumper. What does replacing the crash bar do in terms of changing the clearance between the lower grill and bumper?

The whole reason for it is because the JDM and/or Euro RS bumper covers are shorter than the US ones. So if you try to put a JDM or Euro bumper cover on a US production car without replacing the brackets and/or crash bar, the bumper cover won't fit.

It probably has to do with the differences in NHTSA safety requirements of US production car over other countries. In the US, we get the fat ugly bumpers.
