cant go dry because the nitrous out of the jets will freeze the plastic intake manifold, and it will crack and/or explode. i saw pics of a guy with a 1zz matrix/corolla/celica with a busted IM

fyi, lighter rotating parts do NOT add hp to the wheels, they allow the engine to turn faster.

i had a fidanza flywheel in my matrix xrs....7.5lbs vs 13lbs stock....felt like the car dropped 500lbs when i first drove it out of the shop. first gear lift was over in a blink! but i dyno'd the same as all the other matrix guys running with the same mods. as a matter of fact i have a dyno showing my xrs vs another xrs who had more hp....we were both in the same gear for the runs and we graphed the hp/tq vs time instead of rpms.....despite having 5 or 6 less hp, i hit redline about a half second before him....

For the win.

And yes, many domestics are good cars. But I still like bashing on them. :p

yeah one of those would certainly make for a rip-roaring Yaris... but at what cost?

I guess, if you really want more power at a more reasonable price, you can't beat NOS... It'll get expensive in the long run, but I guess the entry cost per HP is by far the lowest.

intake, header, and a header-back exhaust you'd be lucky to pull stock crank #'s at the wheels....

but for added zoom, you can add lightened parts to allow the engine to rev more freely. no hp gains, but faster slips

reduces cost and reduces the heating effect of the engine onto the incoming air, pretty clever really
