Manifold name looks cool, and certainly personalizes it.

I'm thinking that anybody who is not in the know is going to call it Jooter.

Maybe that's a Canadian or European thing... but here, lower case j's extend below the writing line and are dotted and not crossed, and upper case J's are not fully crossed like T's are.

Either way is fine. It's catchy. Logos need to be catchy.

looks like your "j" and "t" made a baby or you put the lower case "t" backwards :D

Yes, I did that on purpose to create "mirror image" symmetry between the two t's and o's. Something unusual and out of the ordinary is what makes a logo catchy.

They are in serif fonts (Times/etc.).
The font for this forum is a sans serif font (verdana/helvetica/arial) where this is no crossing at all or "half crossed".

I agree about the catchy logo idea though, and can appreciate the effort to use simple shapes for easier manual G-code.

Yes. I just thought like the machine would think:

2 full circles oo
2 semi circles, each with a + at one end
1 3/4 circle with a horizontal _
1 semi circle with a vertical l

Picked up all the pieces from the CNC machine shop today...















Cranky... you can see the the areas on the inside of the outer runners that will be undercut with a hand file to the line scribed by the machine that matches the Yaris intake ports on the head. The solution was so simple.


Next up is an installation clearance test of everything including test fitting the throttle body...

...and then it's off to the welder.

A stock Corolla throttle body gasket seals the adaptor to the manifold...




It's a thin stiff metal sheet with rubberized coating on both sides. All of the gaskets used are OEM.



Those three black allen bolts holding the adaptor to the manifold are screwed into the original threaded Corolla throttle body mounting holes.

Far more likely to be a "shower".

Remember that the Toyota engineers could model the plastic intake manifold in absolutely any shape, so I'm certain that what they came up with was the best for overall driveability.

Now that all the parts are back home, I just took a cloth measuring tape to the runners of both manifolds and am suprised to discover that the runners are just slightly longer than the stock Yaris runners!

Yaris runners, end to end: 19"
Tooter runners, end to end: 20"

Just by looking at both, Dang! I would have sworn that the Corolla's were a lot shorter! It was the larger diameter that only made them appear that way. This bodes well for low end performance, although I still believe that low end torque will suffer somewhat because larger diameter runners means slower air velocity at low rpms. Now how much low end loss is an open question which will be settled on the dyno.

Here's a pic of the inside of the stock manifold...



You can see the entrance to the first runner at the bottom which is at 90 degrees to the manifold's intake, and the plenum is quite large.

In contrast, these runners are all pointing directly at the manifold's intake and are all the same short distance from it...



I believe that this manifold would really shine under a forced induction situation. First, because it it is plenty strong to take being pressurized, and second, it can handle 20% more air flow under equal conditions because it was made for an engine with 20% more displacement.
