It seems that D11 with 6 pins and the Aux cable do not do anything. I unplugged both of these and left the blue plug I showed a picture of, D10 with 10 pins. D10 is what is giving power to the stereo, it also lets the cd player work, and the radio all work with D10 plugged in. What are the other plugs for? Well D74 the 20 pin connector with only 5 cables is suppose to be the aux. What is the other connector for?

Ok the problem was finally solved. I went into the dealership with the Aux input installed and told them how my Aux stopped working. I lucked out because the Audio/Electronics guy was there and he checked out my car. The head unit stereo i had was not ment to be used with the Aux cable the car brought. He moded some wires into the plug and Presto! I was not charged anything for the service but the part still cost me 114 bucks with tax. Oh well at least i can use my ipod in my car now. Thank you all for all your help.

Its weird. My 5th gen ipod video works perfect when plugged into the Aux Jack. But 6th gen Ipods will not work. The stereo does not even recognize something is plugged in. I think it has something to do with the way the guy moded it. I had left my ipod in the car when he was modding my stereo and aux jack.

i just bought one of these bad boys and the part number is:
86190-52040 Instead of a 4 pin connector, its an 8 pin connector like the one Oned has in his car. Once again, anyone have a part number or spare connector? |

This thread is relevant to my interests! I really hope CTScott is listening!
So, I'm mounting a head unit from a 2007 us-market Yaris in...a 2005 Scion xB. It fits, and it works, and besides the fluourescent green color (I can see why amber is considered a step up), I love it. However, the aux port doesn't work, and that's why I made the switch. The guy who sent me the head unit also sent the aux cable. Er, well, parts of it. He cut the cable at the heat unit and at the 3.5 mm jack. I connected the ends with 22-gauge wire and little connectors, but it doesn't work. In fact, the aux feature doesn't even work. As I understand it, one of the red wires tells the head unit that the AUX function should be enabled. I don't know which red wire is which, but I've tried them both ways and still no luck. Is one of them supposed to be grounded? Care to share which? I'm super-bummed because I was gigantically excited about listening to an mp3 player without blasts of static...so HALLLPP! D: |

OK. Here's the deal. It turns out that the HU needs to see approximately 2.685 K ohms between AUXI and AGND (pins 18 and 19 of the connector to the head unit of a LB and 16 and 19 for a sedan). I just tried it on an 08 HU and found that a 2.0K resistor worked, as did a 2.62K resistor, so anything in that general range should work (for example 2.2K is a readily available value).

Here's a little more info on the other end of the cable:
Aux Jack D75 and D79.jpg For the LB the Aux jack uses the 8 pin connector D79 From D74 above to D79: Pin 17 to Pin 1 (Left Audio) White Pin 15 to Pin 2 (Right Audio) Red Pin 16 to Pin 3 (Audio Ground) Black Pin 19 to Pin 4 (Aux Input) Red Pin 18 to Pin 5 (Aux Ground) Gray For the Sedan the Aux jack uses the 4 pin connector D75 From D74 above to D75: Pin 17 to Pin 1 (Left Audio) Green Pin 15 to Pin 2 (Right Audio) Red Pin 16 to Pin 3 (Audio and Aux Ground) Black Pin 19 to Pin 4 (Aux Input) Red I haven't taken apart a Sedan Aux jack, so I am not sure if it would be compatible with a LB HU. |

okee dokee
i looked around online and a 2007 yaris factory service manual had the grey 4 pin female connector of D75 listed as: stereo jack adapter 82824-21030 I can't seem to find a newer factory service manual that will have D79's part number after the connector listing. Anyone care to help out?? |

CTScott - I think this thread has me almost squared away...one question: I have an 08 Scion Pioneer HU (not the premium, but the TC Pioneer unit, (T1801, I think), and have the aux issue with my 08 LB Yaris. What pins do i need to resistor/jumper on that unit? I've heard 14 and 19 for the premium Scion HU, and 18/19 for the Toyota HU. Thx.

Also, does anyone know the function of the other 2 wiring plugs hidden under the ebrake in the 08 Yaris, besides the aux plug? I'm pretty sure one is for the power locks, but not sure about the other.
