My friend did this to his teg. The hood is MUCH longer so the gap doesnt show so much. plus the hood tends to sink in little making the gap less noticeable only till it reaches the windshield. i had considered doing this to my car, but knowing how short the hood was i figured it wouldnt look good.

This is what I would like to find out...
. If it may reduce the wind NOISE coming from the windshield? if it does "I like it". . If it may increase the wind NOISE because of the extra turbulence "I don't like it" . Just trying to justify a new mod in a good way. thanks .

There were a few Yarii from Puerto Rico that had hood spacers on here about a year ago. I'll try to see if I can find the thread.

i think it help a little aerodynamically as it deflects the wind away from the windshield wiper/cowling.

i was actually wondering how to do this. just read about people doing this to their cars in an issue of import tuner, but for the purpose of improving aerodynamics. so the air flows better over the car or something.

actually to be more accurate this is what the article said...
"Increasing the angle of a car's hood by propping it at the rear isn't always beneficial in and of itself, but decreasing the angle at which it meets the windshield, while covering the wipers, helps cut drag." anyway it's a pretty interesting article full of mods to decrease drag. so i'm sure doing this one mod alone won't do much but that's kinda the way it goes with all modifications to some degree.

I see alot of drifters doing this at the meets in the area but they just pick up longer bolts and washers from the hardware store and theirs are never that high...

Be there done this modd on a couple of my full hooked up mk3 supra's and it looked killer and did lower temps under the hood but this is on a turbo car with a 4ft long hood so it looked go and was functional . I think think the yaris hood is just to short to look good with this modd imo . +1 for being the first one to try iton a yaris. I guess its mad jdm tight yo...

2 yrs later its possibly the dopest mod available on an import. it makes space for the larger turbo and cools the engine an average of 13°... not bad for something that takes 0 time to install... you dont gain hp but you do add style points... +10
