Since you can't see it from the side, I think I'm gonna switch the two, so the turn signal is in white...

There is a bundle of 4 wires running up from inside the fender to up under each headlight. Those are the ones I have pictured. You have to remove the headlights to get at them. Tap the wires I showed for power - the red wire from the mirror is the power wire for the amber LED and the black is the ground. The ground can go to just about any bolt inside the cabin.

Thanks for translating.

Ok here we go!

one more thing. If you don't mind my asking, why not just wire to the side marker, which is only about a foot away from the mirror?

You could do that, I even had mine popped out for that purpose but decided it was neater where I tapped it.

You do realize that the side markers let the idiot in your blind spot know that you and to turn andthat mirror won't achieve that right?

The side markers are a safety thing.

Yes but strangely enough, go look around at pics of the stock USDM sedan... no side markers!

And a lot of US cars still have red rear turn signals that are impossible to see, What's your point?

But you can see the front turn signals on the sedan from the side:

Not so with the liftback.

You'll patch and paint the holes in the fender?
