Still waiting on the 90 degree silicone coupling to arrive so that I can finish off the air filter. Sorry, no air filter... no dyno. I'm not going to wreck my engine.

I want to see the results just as much as any of you do.

One or two pulls on a Dyno withouut an air filter isn't going to hurt your engine. That said, I'd be more interested in seeing the Dyno numbers with the filter because that is how it will be run in the real world and can be compared more directly to your previous Dyno pulls.

I agree.
The second set of dyno pulls need to be done under exactly the same conditions as the baseline pulls with the velocity stack and its matching air filter... except for the tooter manifold being the only change. I want to do this the right way.

That's not going to happen unless ambient temperature and humidity are the same, along with other factors. Did you record ambient conditions and engine intake air temps when you did your baseline pulls?

I think everyone should consider that there is a notable margin for error, counted twice -- once for each dyno session.

^ That's why I suggested he swap manifolds on the dyno, but he doesn't want to do that.

It's tooter's show, I'm just enjoying the whole thing. And he's quite content if it doesn't make or lose great power. He's having great fun doing this -- that's all that matters.

I like clarity for all when I see words like "exactly the same"; that was the only purpose for my post. And... it makes the pool more interesting.

Yes. They were automatically logged on the chart:

78.46 °F
29.19 in-Hg
Humidity: 45 %

Since it's been really hot and dry, I'll try to pick an early morning dyno time on a day when the Santa Ana winds aren't blowing.

It's good you pointed that out, Garm.

By "exactly the same conditions", I meant engine conditions. That the only change between the first dyno runs and the second is the manifold and nothing else.

I'm already happy that the engine runs great, gets good mileage and that the manifold looks really cool. The change won't be much either way because the throttle body, ECU, and engine are all still exactly the same.

I had ordered one from an ebay seller and was sent a 45 degree instead of a 90 so he's making it right.

^ and on this forum, neither does malibuguy, and neither does tooter -- but the link to become a vendor is posted for anyone who wants to join the club.

Thanks for the offer, guy...
But I'll be producing complete bolt on tooters myself so as to be able to recover the initial design and production tool-up costs.

Think of your exhausts... When you design a system that no one else has, you want to be the one to make and sell them yourself.

Cars with ITB's and velocity stacks dyno every day. Dyno shops don't have particulate matter floating around; if they did, I'd probably choose another shop.

Since that's not going to hurt your engine, it's not a valid reason to wait.

I don't care when you do it, just pointing out a bad argument when I see one.
