How are you going to put the square peg in the round hole?

![]() This is the picture of the actual 1ZZ ready tooter manifold that's in stock for sale. ![]() It's $495 on ebay only because of the added fees. From me directly, it's $450 including shipping. Greg greggabi@verizon.net 310-455-3340 |

Only the round half goes into the round hole and is inside the plenum...
![]() The square half sits on top of the hole on the outside of the plenum like the head of a rivet so as to hold the 1ZZ throttle body. The corners overhang on purpose so that it doesn't just fall through all the way. This will make welding really easy as it will rest exactly where it's supposed to be. |

Wow, I hadn't checked on this thread in a while so I missed about 50 pages.
So, with this I could snag a 1zz tb and one of your adapters and be able to rock the 1zz on my Blitz setup? How far do you think this would offset the intake? I've got an AFe and there's not a lot of extra room there.

![]() There's plenty of material to work with on the bottom round section. In fact if thickness became an issue, you could simply cut off the whole round section with a hack saw, and just use the square throttle body base part. You would want to flare out the smaller runner opening with a grinder for a smooth transition to the larger 55mm adaptor bore. |

Oh I didn't realise that stuff had to be chopped off the Blitz part. Blarg, probably beyond what I'm willing to try haha.

There's no other way to retain the same location of your intake without cutting and welding. And it would be a pain, because you'd need to remove the unit to cut it and take to to a welder. It would definitely an advanced project, but not a difficult one as aluminum is really soft and cuts and welds easily. One day someone with the mechanical skills will try a SC 1ZZ. I bet it would be an effing screamer because even running normally aspirated, the throttle response is truly amazing. Last edited by tooter; 05-17-2013 at 06:00 PM. |
