What's the best emanage for a turbo vitz

Can anyone please tell me what's the best emanage for a Toyota vitz rs trd turbo. I plan to modify this car for drag and autocross.

Over 250? I wouldn't trust an eManage, personally. AEM EMS2.

Does anyone know for sure if the internals of the factory turboded 1NZ are different? Otherwise 250hp will probably leave you with a pile of aluminum bits.

I am pretty sure it's the same rods and pistons. Does anyone know the "stock" boost on the factory turbo? it's gotta be 5 psi or less -- just a guess.

Stock boost is 0.5bar. Confirmed.

I wonder whats wrong with emanage [ ultimate of course] and 250 bhp.

The mighty 4efte pushes around 250bhp with a bolted td04 and that also on stock block. And people have been running above 300bhp reliably on forged blocks. :P

well, the 4efte was built with stronger rods and only produced 30 more hp than the nonturbo 4efe. reguardless. The 1nz weakest point (according to threads) are the rods and seems like can only hold up to around 180-200whp. And if what Cali yaris said is true that they hold the same rods, then trying to squeeze 250whp is really pushing a stock 1nz.

You can not compare the 4efte to a 1nz as far as running the same amount of hp with totally 2 different internal setups

^ I've spoken with the OP, and he wants 250+ whp -- actually he wants to make what I'm making, over 350 whp, according to his PM's and emails.

His 1NZ is not going to make 250 (for long) without a build.

The OP intends to track the car, so to my mind, management should be the best possible and most robust and reliable unit he can get, especially if he has future plans to make big power.

Agreed. but what I was not agreeing with is 'thefalls' post,

basically saying "4efte pushes 250hp with only upgraded turbo, why cant a 1nz do the same.. " no way you can compare these 2 engines.

EMS2 and it will give you unless mistaken possibly the most customization in the industry. You won't make stable reliable power like that on a piggyback. Maybe someone will prove me wrong, but I wouldn't stake the type of cash required to get to 250bhp and go with a piggyback.

250 whp just to be clear. Just repeating the OP's goal.

My apologies for half a post and some confusion. I did not mean that a stock 1NZ can push 250hp reliably with emanage ultimate. The stock rods are weak for this amount of power. And the 4efte was built with turbo in mind.Hence the stronger rods and low compression [8.2:1].So cant really compare these two engines with upgraded turbos and same management.

But a built 1NZ can push 250hp with emanage.

hi guys, been busy lately. this is what i have done to the car so far, changed the hood, fenders, trunk, doors front and rear bumpers to fiberglass. changed all the glass to plexi. took out everything inside the car and placed a fiberglass seat, coilovers. put in a stage 3 clutch, aluminum pully, aluminum flywheel. plans in the future are water injection, low comp pistons, forged connecting rod, matched porting, cams, front mounted inter cooler. so far i joined an autocross competition and won 2 first place and 1 third place. so which one is better aem or ultimate?. any suggestions to make the car more competitive whould be appreciated .
