OK, Now I gotta look up the Ruckus! Oh I'm missing the days of riding my Honda 50 & Honda 70 trail bikes around...I swear if they made them again, I would get one. I think at 150-155 lbs. and 5'-10'' I could still ride one

Thanks Bronsin, Now I'm looking at mini-bikes

Brings back memories. I spent much of the summer when I was 15 riding one around trails and what one local called 'the lava beds' way up in the NE part of California. Memories of riding that bike = why Bronsin's new bike appeals to me (besides the retail price and the MPGs ).

I looked up the regulations for Texas and one can only avoid taking the motorcycle specific road test if : 1. Engine is 50cc tops -- 2. Only has 1 speed/gear -- and 3. Has a top speed of 30 MPH or less....(mostly only mopeds, I would think, would fall into this)....Honda 70 Trail bike and Bronsin's new bike obviously exceed this.

If you end up doing this, and you don't currently have a motorcycle endorsement on your insurance policy, and end up getting bike, please let us know what percentage (thus keeping the amounts private of course) your insurance increased. I'm curious (re possibly following that path myself) and I'd bet I'm not they only one .

Per Wikipedia, Honda claims the Ruckus returns 114 miles per US gallon in EPA testing......Bronsin = 146 MPG with a much bigger engine.

BUSTED!

Actually Im getting the figure by saying there are six segments in the gas gauge. Each one worth .2 gallon. Ive gone 34 miles on one segment. So 5X34= 170 miles per gallon. (the last segment is worth almost .4 gallon)

I havnt in truth filled the tank, run an ammount of miles, refilled the tank and done the math. Which the the only REAL way to do it.

Im drunk on mpg power andd cant be trusted!

Yes I sold it. Im too decreoit physicially to ride a 700 pound motorcycle anymore. PLus the meds I am on (was on) have destroyed my sense of balance.

Liability and comprehensive runs $82 a year.

No....I was taking what you wrote as the gospel. I'm prejudiced against the EPA re thinking their estimates are too low (Gee...I wonder if the experience many of us have had with the Yaris would have anything to do with that !)

'drunk on mpg power' - LOL

Thanks! Wow, that's cheap! Same policy as your Yaris, etc. to get a discount for that? I wouldn't get collision either. I can't remember the last time I bought collision, even for a new car. I HATE giving money to an insurance company. I'll take a chance on having to write a check for a new vehicle or bike....with a vehicle I have supreme confidence re no accident that is my fault....with a bike...not as much...but I still wouldn't get collision.
