Just changing the blubs?

So I have been told that just changing your stock blubs with like Nokya or other kind of thoes blubs will damage your wires or something, and others say that they have been driving with them forever and nothing happened.

I want to pretty much change the head light bulbs, reverse bulbs, and maybe license plate bulbs.

So does changing them damage your wires?

run the oem wattage bulbs. anything higher than oem wattage will hurt wiring.

Disagree...depends on the temperature of the bulb and how much wattage it is pulling. some bulbs of the factory wattage put out so much heat they melt the harness.

also, from my experience, a bulb that pulls a few more watts than factory wont fry a harness, but if its alot more, expect problems.

It is just like any other wiring, including home electrical. the wires in your house leading to your light bulb fixture are meant to have a certain amount of current running through them...if your home fixture recommends a 45 watt bulb, if you put a 120 watt bulb in it, expect the socket wiring to melt or the wires leading to the socket to melt and cause a fire.

same deal with your car. will a 5 watt higher bulb ruin the wiring harness? doubtfull, but if it does, dont expect warranty coverage and expect all the naysayers to say "i told you so"...
