Top 10 cheapest new cars in America (Yaris listed in this cnnmoney.com article)

If you're interested, there's a short blurb on the Yaris:

"In just about every respect, the old Toyota Yaris was about as unattractive as its awkward name."

It was still better looking than the dumpy little Chevy Aveo and the Honda "dwarf mini-van" Fit.

Wow. Text from a journalist that is actually fairly flattering to the Yaris. Wonders never cease . Perhaps, going forward, more journalists will be objective when it comes to the Yaris. However, I'm not holding my breath. Thanks for the link (truly) .

I was waiting for the "While the Yaris isn't as nice as a Honda® Fit™, it did have the same number of seats as our favorite Honda® Fit™, which is good. Also, the Yaris was slower than the Honda® Fit™, but got better fuel economy because it wasn't as sporty as the Honda® Fit™, which is the best car we have ever driven. Honda® Fit™!" thing that the automotive press loves to do.

If the Fit's base price put it in the top 10 with the Yaris, the passages you were 'waiting for' probably would have been part of the text .

True.

All praise the all-new Chevy Spark for bumping the Fit out of the "bottom 10"!

I admit that I like the way the Spark looks on the outside. However, I don't like the layout/look of the dash, speedo, etc.

it is amazing that American car manufacturers now have cars that actually compete well in this cheapo list.

Well now I know what the cheapest cars in the USA are.

Too bad the judgement criteria was only "does my ass look fat in this car?"

Nothing about the features, practicality, or problems.
