I've driven in Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Monaco....and the price of fuel in each place amazes me. The cost of an equivalent vehicle (equivalent to what is available in the U.S.) is equally amazing. Some places are much cheaper to drive in than the U.S., but much of the so called developed world is more expensive (to drive in) than the U.S. |

I applaud you for trying to have as much fun with this as you do. In contrast with my new AEM EMS, modified fuel regulator at 60psi, 9lbs of boost, and 5 gallons of VP100 racing fuel I used roughly 4.5 gal in 8 passes over the weekend with speeds over 120mph in at least 1 mile of each run so that would be around 9 miles I bet at over 120mph pushing WOT and then of course a total of 4.5 miles going 0-120 at WOT. Throw in there actually as well 2 22 mile round trippers to get back and forth to the track. This is making my head hurt! Last year in contrast on straight pump fuel, 93 octane, and a stock regulator at 43/44psi, and 8lbs of boost I avg around 29mpg.

Was at 45.4 . Now 44.3 . Probably won't be able to keep it above 44 . Will be 3 people and lots of groceries . Supposed to be cooler and windier along with 2 very steep hills to deal with .

^^^^^ yeah, wind definitely can be a contributing factor re reduced MPG. My worst tanks, MPG wise, have usually included the highest MPH limit stretches of I-10 in Texas (going to and coming from California) while 'fighting' heavy crosswinds along those stretches.

These cars amaze with the gas mileage they can produce with an automatic . Wonder if a CVT would boost it . The car has / had its faults , but still enjoy it .

Went as thought . Still pleased considering the conditions . 382 mis. / 8.76 gals. = 43.6 m.p.g..

Doesn't the Yaris itself display the MPG? Or is it inaccurate?
Mine (with VFD instrument) shows reasonable values for l/100km... |

^ No . I think the 12 and '13 do . Those are not as accurate . The Eco-Meter can be tuned to be closer to the calculated F.E.. A shame that doesn't apply to the newer vehicles .

Hershey, you definitely seem to be in a mpg zone.
Tell me, how much has the EcoMeter affected your driving style? I mean seeing that LED Gauge go from green to red etc. I've been thinking of getting one and splitting my OBD signal between it and my UltraGauge. Do you think you could match/mantain your current mpg profile without it? Will be heading out to OH again shortly where I expect my mileage to climb back up to the mid 40's +/-. Cheers. |

Yes it makes us more aware thanks to those bars . Did have some help from a '07 Prius we had . Well worth the $60 paid to JC Whitney . Had free S/H . Very easy to tune in to your calculated gas mileage . The Scangauge can be found at some A.A.P. stores . May be able to check their inventory at the site or call local stores .

How you accelerate from lights makes a big difference too. Try to accelerate gradually. (stay below 3K RPM)
If I see the coming traffic light is red, I will slow down and coast to save gas, because sometimes I can avoid starting from a dead stop (0 mph). Saves on brake pads wear too. The highway speed limit here are 55 MPH, so most of the times, I go 62 MPH to save gas. That's my driving style in my yaris. Good luck! |

Can pulse and glide in the city as well . I'll usually let car glide to redlights and stop signs . Sometimes not a good idea with a lead foot behind you .

bought my 2014 manual last Saturday. I calculated the first tank at 46.3 mpg (mostly highway from the trip home from Indy). the car calculated it at 46.6, so that is very close.
