Help me fine-tune my settings :)
OK so I have a Pioneer head unit that allows a few fancy settings concerning the subwoofer. I can set the sub's ceiling frequency, as well as a high pass filter for the other speakers.
I don't have a very fancy speaker setup but I have a 10" Coustic subwoofer running on it own amp, as well as 4x Boston Acoustics S60's for the main speakers, on their own amp too. As I have it now, I have the subwoofer frequency AND high pass filter set at 80Hz, my assumption is that I should not burden the normal speakers with such low frequency, so let the sun handle that. Now, I can also set the frequencies to 50Hz or 125Hz, I guess my question really is, is 50Hz too low for a regular 6.5" speaker to handle? Or, would it be OK for the ranges to overlap (i.e. subwoofer set at 80Hz, but high pass at 50Hz so both the sub and speakers respond to 50-80Hz)?
