You want mileage? Check this out...

I came across this while searching for truck parts: http://www.autometer.com/media_newsa...11&pg=1&aid=97

Doesn't the ScanGauge do the same thing?

It just came out. I saw it the other night while paging through my Truck Trend magazine. I'm sure reviews will be more readily available once the public gets more access to the unit. The only vehicle that I own and doesn't have an on board fuel economy meter is my '99 Taurus. However, it's too old to be 'modding' lol.

Wow, I was going to buy a tachometer, but screw that, I'm buying this. It has an, "engine load," function anyways. Great find!

Now I just have to think of a way to mount it before I buy it... Dang it, maybe I will have to reinstall my hated clock again...

Found a better picture and description of functions. Anyone have an idea of how this is calculating MPG? Is it the same as the ScanGauge II? That snippet on vehicle type is putting me off a little, as if its just estimating based on the size of vehicle.

If I get it I will post results on accuracy as I have been keeping extremely detailed records and stats on my fuel economy ever since I owned my Yaris.

http://thmotorsports.com/autometer/a.../i-247602.aspx

Features:
* Customizable to the specifc vehicle’s type (compact, full size, crossover/mini-van or truck/SUV)
* Uses proprietary software to calculate fuel economy performance (real time and/or average)
* Display real time fuel economy performance in both a radial energy consumption graph and in a precise, easy-to-read digital format
* Offers 4 different modes that can be easily selected by the driver at the touch of a button – Instantaneous Fuel Economy, Average Fuel Economy, Digital Tachometer with Instantaneous Fuel Economy, Digital Speedometer with Instantaneous Fuel Economy

59.49 from here, + 10.25 S/H to where I am. Grand total of 69.74, not too shabby. In your face MSRP.

I saw that on various other sites described as a less expensive alternative to say Scangauge etc. I still opted for the Scangauge as it does more and I wanted the code clearing capability. That does look good if all you ask for is a means to monitor fuel consumption.

I like the Scangauge a lot, but it's just too small for me. The code clearing is nice... but I have mechanic friends.

I want big, visible gauges and in reality all I want is a MPG gauge and a tachometer. Everything else is just showing off. lol jk

Great find at $69 shipped! I just ordered mine.

I am trying to find a junkyard upper left glovebox cover to modify. I want to mount my GPS, iPhone, and the gauge into cover, but I don't want to risk making a mess of my original one. Sparks gets $95 for a new one...
