How often do you get asked "is that a Yaris?"

Had the car for almost 3 weeks now. Got asked a couple times before, however today alone I was asked 3 times.
Once in the Homedepot parking lot, the guy actually wanted to see inside the car so I open the door and let him pop the head in to take a tour.
Second time was in the bestbuy parking lot, it was just a simple "is that a Yaris?"
The third time, was after I pulled out the bestbuy parking lot and by the traffic light. The guy stopped next to me gesture me to roll down the window, which I have to lean over and roll it with a handle since I don't have power window.. I guess that must looked pretty lame... he also wanted to know if it is a yaris I am driving.. after I told him yes.. he said.. this is the first one he had ever spotted on the road.
I guess Yaris is finally catching on with the public.

Yep,
thats what I get too... a "what is that?" followed by a "cute car" if it's a women asking and a "hows the mileage?" if it's a guy... This has happened a number of times...

The car does attract attention..

I've never had a car that so many peole came up and asked questions about because they were thinking about buying one. Toyota has a big hit on their hands... if they'd only bring more into the US.

I was at the bank and the teller girls were asking about my Yaris. My brother and his wife were making fun of my car when they first saw it, but when I acually showed it to them, they changed their tune. They wanted one for my brother who commutes about 120 miles round trip each day in a Taurus! That is a no brainer right there. He goes through a minimum of 6 gallons per day! Yaris would cut it in half!

US needs 5 door!! My boss and I have seen one down here in Richmond, VA driving around with Ontario plates! Makes me quite jealous! I might trade mine in in a few years if the 5 door comes to the states. Can you buy cars in Canada and register them in the states?

Yes you can buy a car from Canada and register in the U.S. At least I did that in both Maine and Texas.

I had a few friends who thought it looked a bit on the cute side. But they started to like it when I told them how much money you save on gas.

I don't own one, yet, but my wife says, "It looks like a dinosaur head." I'm getting one, anyway.

I get asked "What kind of car is that?" and "Is that a hybrid?" all the time. When they ask me if it's a Hybrid, I tell them "nope, it's about 10k cheaper than a hybrid but I get about the same gas mileage!" Their faces light up. It's funny.
