Cds are an archaic recording format formerly used to save music and sometimes for introducing software to computers> They were made in the late 20th century by dinosaurs who still listen to them because of their cheapness to purchase (especially used), the simplicity of use,and the wide variety of reptilian music that can be found on them. Rather like the fast food of musical transmission you just pop them in the player and they are ready to consume.......
Think I've got it fixed T.G. I think the feed wheels in the player where getting compressed when I left a Cds in the player, and the heat made it worse. You still have that factory head unit? Its still in the back of my mind..

Figured as much, thought I'd keep the joke going. If you think thats bad, my first music was vinyl. It was manufactured in swamp ponds by ameobas.

lol

i had some records growing up.. like the junglebook and some disney stuff on vinyl. They say you cant beat the quality sound wise of vinyl still. MP3 is soo much easier though lol

what do you think it was that was making it stick. you should put that in the thread for any future person who may have the same problem :)

My pioneer head unit stopped playing cds after about 30,000 miles in my girlfriends jetta and 60,000 in the yaris. It wouldn't eat them, but it would just stop playing them. I just went and picked up another pioneer and threw it in - I don't think 1 dollar for every thousand miles is too bad for a head unit.

And I guess I'm stuck in the middle of old school and new school technology. I still burn all my mp3s to CD.

Thats mine supmet: a base pioneer with 25,000 on it, going all the time. Question: did the harness match up. I found a pioneer with the same dimensions, and it specs the same except the faceplate I'm hoping rather plug and play rather than having to redo the wiring. where do you get them that cheap.?

I've still got a cassette player in my 2001 Tacoma, the Cd player was part of an expensive package of upgrades. 60,000 miles and the obsolete thing works just fine...

From my experience pioneer is pretty good at keeping the harness and wires pretty much the same. And I just got the cheapest one that plays mp3s down at a stereo shop by my house.

Good to hear figured it probably would. I talked to the help line at crutchfield about it and. They most likely but don't bet the house on it.. Best prices I've come up with are on Amazon.com at 70 some bucks with free shipping...

Don't use paper labels. Just scribble on the CD-R with a Sharpie.

I like the Mazda Rx8's factory radio. Comes with cassette, CD and mini disc players built in along with a port for mp3 player. Has ALL of the bases covered :D
