Planning on getting a Yaris Friday

My wife and I are planning on getting a 2009 Yaris Sedan on Friday. I just wanted to check with the people who own them as to suggestions or feedback. We would be getting the power package automatic build. Is there anything we need to be aware of?
I'm a Toyota man through and through. Never owned anything but. My wife has not however. This will be her first Toyota. She is really excited about getting it. We looked at nearly every car on the planet. She is only 4'10" though and this vehicle fit her the best. We've both been pleasantly surprised with the drivability of the Yaris. It handles very well and has the nicely geared pep Toyota is great for.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all in advance.

I bought an 08 S Sedan 6 weeks ago. I bought it for financial reasons. let me tell you: I am happier with the car than I thought I would be. It's very comfortable for me, handles well, gets ridiculously good gas mileage, and looks great. I think you'll love the car. Understand that it's not the fastest thing out, appreciate it for what it does great, and you'll be happy.

If your wife can drive a stick go for the MT - other than that she may have to fend you off from wanting to drive it! I'm sure you'll both love it. There isn't really anything you need to know because the car delivers on its promise of a simple efficient car that happens to be a lot of fun to drive. Post pics when you get it!

She can't drive a stick, which is good and bad. I love driving and driving an automatic loses some of the experience for me.........but it also means she can't drive my car lol.

I know we will enjoy it. It was definitely a nimble little car. I'll post pictures for sure after we get it. That will just be the start though - she wants me to put in Navigation and LED accents and a shift knob.... and I may have a set of rims lying around somewhere I can throw on it etc....

not in a million years. took me ten years to find one in good shape for the right price and then two to restore and drop a new engine in. She's my baby.

Ive enjoyed my new 09 3Dr LB so much, with the lack of fuel gauge awareness, in comparison to my other auto, that Ive temporarily even left this one sitting in the garage quite a bit lately. The Yaris actually gets better mpg than my bike. But then again my bike has quite a bit more WOT time. Good Luck with your Yaris. You will enjoy it.

Congratulations! Enjoy! It's not a ST185, but it's great in other ways.
