Installing fog lights, stuck... please help!
In the process on removing all the bolts and plugs from the bumper as illustrated in the paper work from Micro Image, I currently am stuck at that point.
The bumper simple will not come off, almost like the headlights or something are holding in in place, and yet I can not access that area. Can someone with a sedan(I drive the 2007) please post images or steps showing me how to get this front bumper off please. I need to get the car together before the end of the day! Thank you! EDIT: The engine bay/bumper part are complete. The cable for the inside is now where I am stuck. Cant put together anything from the picture in the document to the cable/colors I have in hand. And since I am not willing to short something out, I will wait for someone to please point me in the right direction, thank you. Last edited by Lafiro; 07-09-2009 at 02:50 PM. Reason: Moving along! |

Did you unsnap it away from the front fenders on the sides?
Did you look at the PDF file on Thomas' site?

Sounds like your stuck at the sides.
To clarify what Cali Yaris is saying. Where you remove the bolt from the front wheel well in front of the tire, you need to grab the bumper plastic there and pull it outward from the car. It will feel like it's going to break but it won't. Just pull away from the car and it snaps out. Snaps back in when the bumper goes back on. Do that on either side and it should come free. I don't have any pictures available but hopefully that helps.

try PM-ing 1NZyaris1 (Ray), or CTScott, they both are expert at the foglight install procedures.
Hope you can get some sleep and rest!

To be clear to everyone reading this thread, here is the first paragraph of the installation instructions:

Alright, so I have everything in the front/engine bay completed.
Now on to the inside! I took apart all the plastics, and have installed the relay and already see the 15a fuse installed. Now here is the problem. I know that 1 of the 4 connectors on the harness goes to the fog light switch, but where in the world do the other 3 cables/clips go? Please see the attached picture. Thank you! Also if its as simple as removing the wire from the harness and attaching it to the cars own harness, I would like to be able to use the fogs even if the high beams are used, and even if the headlights are not on. Thanks again. Last edited by Lafiro; 07-10-2009 at 12:44 AM. |

So the car now has the relay installed, and the fuse, so I dont see why this cable needs to have both?
And as for the fog light connector, seems to me like there has to be a ground, and there has to be power for immunination, and there has to be a way to tell the car to turn on the fog lights! But which of the cables does what, and which goes where? So far I would say the black one gets grounded, but what about the other 3? |

Finished product
So after days of messing with cables, and trying to figure out what was wrong, I finally got it right. Cables needed to go in the right place, and lots of others needed to be thrown out!
Everything now works. (after 20+mosquito bites, back/neck pain, 2 days + work lol) |
