I hope I,ve got this right as i dont know how to send a message on these forums, but I,ll have a go..Regarding my yaris Ive had it from the year 2000..one old year when I bought it..I know I,ll get slated for saying this but its never had a servis or a spanner on it since Ive had it..sorry I forgot, I asked a fellow to change the oil for me 3 years back..Its done 62000 miles & still going strong which some would say "is a tribute to the reliability of Toyota"..For my part I think its a con paying the inflated prices that the garage,s charge.. thats my thinking anyway..As I say I,ll get slated but will see what this comment brings about.. Hoping to hear from somebody,All the best (ronsolostar) Ive got to find out how to get back to this site so bear with me if I,m a bit slow,"Its me age"....LOL "Expat from England 5 years back"

Are you kidding me!? If you haven't changed your oil (at the very least) for 62,000 miles and your car is still running, CALL TOYOTA. I'm sure they would love to analyze your car.

Toyotas and Nissans are kinda known for being able to go 100,000+ miles without a service. Haha it's definitely not a good thing, but they will survive. I suggest you go get an oil change (it will NEED it this time!) and get a little thicker of an oil put in. The crud that is in the oil now will make it necessary to put a little heavier of an oil in from here on out.

I was really lax on service for Dodge Colt I once owned. That was until the engine seized up on the way to work one morning. Now I'm fairly religious about taking care of my rides.

Change that oil!! Do it yourself - it's easy and it'll make you feel better about the years of neglect!

Like me, I would think that any European coming to the US will be shocked after the first oil change when the sticker says the next oil change should be after 3,000 miles (!!!) The typical interval in Europe is more like 20,000 km, which is about 12,500 miles.
