Two things that get on my nerves

Don't ask me why, but these two things really irk me. Are you one of these people?

1. Inching Forward While Stopped Waiting for a Light

Are you one of those people, who while waiting for the light to turn red, keep inching forward, closer towards the car in front of you who is also stopped by the way? Why do people do this? Do they feel that by "pressing on the car" the light will change faster? ugh!

2. Shifting From Reverse to Drive Without Coming to a Complete Stop

I cringe when someone is giving me a ride somewhere and they do this. It just gets to me. I feel like they are putting uneeded stress on the tranny. Is it really so hard to stop, then shift? Gurr!

Yeah, that red light creeper ticks me off too, like it will make the light turn green faster... I find by sitting on the sensor it works better, but that is just me.

Some sensors are retarded. I don't creep on people, but I've sat at a light until someone did creep 2 inches from my bumper, which finally changed the light.(no it didn't just cycle through, the "smart" light finally realized there were cars there)

Pretty insignificant things to get "irked" by considering the world around you these days.

Okay, I have to admit to #1...sometimes. The reason I will edge up at a stoplight is if I see a car behind me coming up fast, especially in bad weather or if my kids are in the backseat.

As for #2, that drives me nuts too. I have a niece who has a Corolla and she does this all the time! I thought after 5 years of doing this her transmission would of been toast.

Cell phone talkers REALLY tick me off, but that's because blu-tooth is so readily available, and easy to use, and nobody uses it.... I know it's not expensive, and it doesn't cost per month... guess I am too tech savvy or something. STAY OFF THE STUPID PHONES WHILE YOU DRIVE!!!

my step dad doesnt stop at all. i sware he pulls out of the driveway at like 20..no not pull out of the driveway i mean thud out of the driveway then he slams into drive while he is still moving backward! i hate riding in the car with him... i am just waiting to die. he will be going sixty and see all red lights in front of him and then he slams on the brakes when he gets there and u think u will fly out the windshield. i always make sure everyone has seatbelts on when hes driving. they have a 2002 ford escort and it was nice once upon a time. it sounds like it is going to fall apart now...sad

Guilty as charged. Though I usually stop 10 or 15 feet behind people and then creep forward to about 5 feet or so.. If I don't creep, then somebody is likely to go AROUND me and try to wedge themselves in right in front of me.. I give plenty of room because I'm forgiving for people who need to get into the left lane for the next stop light.. So if they're in the right lane trying to get into the left lane they can do so, but creeping forward prevents people behind me from doing a right and then left just to get ahead of everybody else..

It's not like I get crazy close, I've had cars get so close to my old Coupe that all I could see out the rear window is the headlights from their truck..

I'm surprised something so little annoys you..
These kinds of driving habits are inherited or somethin.. My dad drives an automatic and he'll take his foot off the break and flip it into neutral at a stop light and the car will start rolling backwards and then he'll flip it into drive to get back to where he was before and keep going back and forth between neutral and drive...

If he's on a hill and he rolls forward when in neutral, then he does it between neutral and reverse. But if the hill is steep enough, it won't go backwards so no rocking and he just leaves it in reverse.. He has mumbled something about if you get rear-ended it's better to have it in reverse at a stoplight, you're less likely to hit the car in front of you.. But that sounded more like an excuse to me.

I do #1 all the time, Im determined to creep as far to the person in front of me.....

then I do #2 when I realize how far i've gone and that the person in front of me might very well be a manual.

LOL
but seriously, I creep. :p

I find that if I am stopped at a red light and inch foward, the car next to me will also inch foward. Even if you start into the cross walk.

I hate when that happens at a stop light and you're trying to turn right on red... And you've got this big SUV blocking the entire horizon. It's like.. I can't SEE and then they start creeping forward with you... FFFFFFFFUUUUUUU~~~

But yea, now I've got a Yaris most of my serious visibility problems that I had in my Coupe are gone..

Guilty here of creeping up.

Most all the lights here in Socal have magnetic triggers installed into the road, sometimes you have to make a bit of motion for the light to trigger.

What about people who stop w/ 3 to 5 car lengths from the line at the light or from the car in front of them. That pisses me off. I'll pull in front of them if I have the chance.

I get ticked off at people who insist on leaving a 3 car length gap at the left turn light then when the light turns green these people do everything in slow motion so the line up for the light just gets longer as only a couple of cars make the light, not much i can do about it but it sure is irritating. Then theres the other extreme where the light turns green and the guy behind starts blowing his horn before you have a chance to put the car in gear.
Lots of ignorant drivers out there some of whom have no business behind the wheel of a car..

---people who follow you into the center lane i.e. // or \\ they double up next to you, they follow you out of the exit into the center lane and then try to go around you/before you into the traffic flow, very ignorant and dangerous.

---people who drive with their high beams on. if you can't see you shouldn't be driving.
if you have a broken/burnt head light get it fixed, it's different in every state but some states are supposed to give you fix it tickets or even fines for driving like that.

---people who drive with only one headlight low beam GET IT FIXED

---people who decide to only drive with DRL's

---people who think it's cool to drive without any lights at night

---people who neglect their cars and you pull up behind them to find they either have no working brake lights, one brake light or a short that causes all the lights to stay on at all times including the reverse lights

---people who blatantly run the red lights. come on it's already changed to green for cross traffic yet you just have to have been going 60 in a 45 and thought you had the right of way just because you were in the solid lines for the intersection?

---trucks who end up convoying (side by side for any length of time on any street)

---people who think any lane is a slow lane (slow lane means you're going to go the posted speed limit or 5 mph under) it doesn't mean get in any lane and proceed to go 25 in a 50 or 40 in a 55...... and then you get up next to them and they're not even paying attention to the road.

i do the same thing! i'm really not an aggressive driver by any means, but that's the one thing that really bugs me! i was always taught in drivers ed(and my father) that you should be able to see the bottom of the bumper/part of tires on the car in front of you. this also gives you enough room for an emergency manuever if necessary. it isn't an exact science as myself(6'2") sitting in our minivan-like seating of the yaris vs. my wife(5'2") in our old car('95 civic) will yield slightly different results, but you get the point - STAY BACK!!!!!!!!!!
