Going from 205/40/R17 to 215/40/R17 or 205/45/R17
Hey Guys,
I need to get new tyres and the one i want only come in 215/45/R17 i currently have R17 wheels on a 42 offset and its lowered. Would there be any issues of going for the above tyres? Thanks in advance. - RESOLVED BELOW New Question OK so ive decided not to go with the 215/45 because of the rubbing. is it possible to go for a 215/40/R17 or 205/45/R17 without any issues? i wouldnt mind a bit more rubber to make it a bit more comfortable and to fill out the guards a bit more thanks again :) Last edited by Masteraal; 05-12-2010 at 01:03 AM. |

Depends how low you are and your alignment. With a 2" drop and -2.5 deg camber up front, I only rubbed on big bumps. I was running stiff coilovers, though. that was on 215/40-17's, 17x7 +40mm. Actually, 45's will probably rub a lot, and you lose some gearing.
